Stiles has been coming to work right after school lately. The extra money is nice, and the job is pretty low key; he can get his school work done (if he's in the mood, and he's usually not), has plenty of time to read Darrow's sad, sad excuse for Reddit, and even finishes all the things he's actually paid to do.

All the same, it gets hard to fill the hours sometimes, and when he isn't busy, he gets restless and kind of destructive (he's apologized to their boss about the Quinjet model three times now), so today he makes a stop by the pizza place and the closest Redbox before heading in. There's no customers around, so he puts down a large pizza, liter of soda, and the movies on the counter, hopping over it and tilting his head back toward the break room.

"Yo! I've got pizza and a couple really awful looking straight-to-DVDs up front."

God, he hopes Seth is working today. Everyone else that they work with reminds him of Comic Book Guy from the Simpsons. Or Rain Man.

"Graphic novel," Seth says, and it only dawns on him just now that he hasn't mentioned anything about it to Stiles. Summer knows, but that's generally what happens when you live with someone that it's virtually impossible to hide absolutely anything from.

"Well, the start of one, anyway. Right now, it's mostly just character designs."

Seth isn't conscious of doing it until he's already done it, but he pulls his sketch book in a little closer. It's not that he doesn't want Stiles to see-- he'll totally show him every panel in excruciating detail eventually-- but it's not quite ready yet. And maybe there's some lingering nervousness, since this is the first thing he's really done since Atomic County.

"It's just a thing," Seth says, then realizes that he's being super vague, "Based on Darrow. You know, and all the weird stuff that goes down around here. A little Scott Pilgrim with less of a video game homage, I guess."
